Frequently asked questions

Why does the app ask for notification permission?

So the breathing session notification can show while a session is running. You can deny it — the app still works, you just won't see the session in your notification shade.

Why does the app run in the background during a session?

A foreground service keeps the breathing timer accurate when your screen goes off or you switch apps. It stops the moment you stop the session.

Will the app drain my battery?

Only during an active session (a 60fps animation plus vibration). When you stop the session, everything halts. There's no background work between sessions.

The haptics feel wrong, too strong, or nonexistent.

The app uses four distinct patterns: a tick on inhale, a double-tap on hold, a long pulse on exhale, and a triple-tap when a cycle completes. Check Android Settings → Sound & vibration → Vibration & haptics is enabled and your device haptic strength isn't at zero. If your device has limited haptic hardware, some patterns may feel similar.

Can I make my own breathing pattern?

Yes. Open Settings (the gear icon) and adjust inhale, hold, exhale, and hold seconds. The pattern name automatically switches to "Custom" when you edit individual timings.

What data does the app collect?

None in the current version. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Will it work offline, or on a plane?

Yes. The current version has no network activity. The app behaves identically with the internet off.

I uninstalled the app and my settings are gone. Can I recover them?

No. Settings live in Android's DataStore on your device and are removed when you uninstall. There's no cloud backup in this version.

How do I share a session screenshot?

During a session or right after, tap the share icon. The app captures the breathing circle area, adds a short line of session stats, and opens Android's share sheet. You pick where it goes — we don't see it.
